Hi! I’m Kalee Herrera, a Master of Social Work intern at Capella University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Utah and have experience in crisis intervention, supporting individuals through mental health challenges and difficult life situations. I’m passionate about creating a safe, welcoming environment where people feel heard, respected, and empowered.

Some of my professional interests include working with children, adolescents, and families, particularly those who have experienced trauma or are involved with the court system. I also have a passion for working with the LGBTQ+ community and supporting individuals affected by domestic violence. I believe it’s important to meet my clients where they are, using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to help them build confidence, resilience, and hope.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling the world, where I have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, connect with diverse communities, and experience new environments. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for different perspectives and continue to shape the way I approach my work with empathy, openness, and respect. I’m excited to continue developing my clinical skills, building meaningful connections, and making a positive impact in the lives of those I serve.
